Autonomous Mobile Robots in Manufacturing and Logistic Processes have increased drastically

With the increase in flexibility and diversity in applications Autonomous Mobile robots (AMRs) are transforming the traditional industrial robots to next level by using their unique ability to work in uncontrolled environment with high precision in understanding. Every company around world are looking forward to implement this in the coming projects. During the maritime meet and Navel Expo 2019 SMEC have exhibited the latest technology in AMRs and found that all are interested in the same so that they can increase their productivity.

There was a greater need for rapid fulfilment  in companies like Amazone and Walmart as the E-Commerce expands, and it was difficult to hire enough staff to ensure the consumer satisfaction. Due to this growing demand without Automation it was so difficult for customer satisfaction hence the introduce AMRs to keep the company up to date and for faster delivery. The introduced shelf scanning so they can sort and deliver fast, floor cleaning etc

The Robotic Industries Association (RIA) has developed a new standard which relates to the safety of people working around ARMs:- R15.08 American National Standards for Industrial Mobile Robots and Robotic System, which will be releasing in 2020.

Machine Vision is introduced in most of the processing industries to increase the safety around

Initially Machine vision was used only for inspection and identification and everyone thought it was its use but later vision plays an expanding role in all field enabling all sort of modern applications. Embedded vision is bringing a whole new range of capability by combining both the image capture and image processing together in to one device. The main advantage of Embedded Vision is that it consumed low amount of energy and perfect integration with existing systems and also it is compatible with mobile and computer.

In heavy Industries Vision is helping people around to work safely from dangerous surroundings.

Vision have come in to new cars such as google and tesla who are using this technology to drive a car without driver also to protect the car in any dangerous situation like breaking in dangerous conditions. even SMEC uses vision in detecting underwater obstacle, so the ships can change their direction and be safe. And also, in finding the particle underwater for testing and research vessels.

Artificial Intelligence is playing a big role in latest robotic applications

Now a days most of the industries are having latest sensors connected together with advance tech but when a breakdown happens, we can’t find out the error so fast there comes the AI, AI can identify the pattern of data related to the system that may be connected mechanically or electrically. So using that feedback pattern data from various sensors AI can identify which machine reeds repair instantly. SO thereby informing engineers to work on it and solve it before its breakdown. So, this means that if some machine production is getting slower it can find that machine and inform engineer to repair it so we can increase productivity before even slowing down.

Machine Learning is playing a big role in grasping without spending much time in training robots

With the combination of Machine Vision and Artificial Intelligence the have been a drastic increase in self learning robots. We don’t need to teach such it can learn by itself and improve their own skill. By improving the Grasping Advancement in Robots, it will enable the robots to handle all kind of products by itself without human help. Which includes places like food processing, agriculture, mobile manipulation in warehouses etc.

Applying Robotics collaboration in most of the Industries for the rapid growth

By taking the specialized application using robots as an opportunity, most of the companies are implementing robotics even in small and medium size companies to improve their production and quality of the product. With less floor space with less investment many companies like SMEC are bringing up robots to make ease the work.

While it’s often the case that speed, payload, and other issues lead users to choose a more traditional robot application, the fact is collaborative robot applications have been disruptive to the industry and likely will continue to be going forward. According to the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), collaborative robots make up just 3% of the current installed robot base around the world, but are likely the fastest growing segment of new robot sales.
